About

This blog is a celebration of novel, novel characters!

I love reading novels, and as an artist I know a great exercise to stretch one's illustration skills is to portray characters from a description in a book. This blog is a challenge to myself to do just that so I'll be posting illustrations from whatever book I'm currently reading. Feel free to add comments and send me your fan art for these great titles too!

Updates & fixes coming soon!

Ever been in over your head?  When you feel like crawling into a hole, burring yourself under the covers, or curling up in the fetal position under your desk?  While I've never actually tried digging myself a physical hole, I am guilty of the latter two.

Since my father passed away at the end of May I've been having a difficult time this summer.  I've never lost someone so close to me before, and I will probably be grieving for a long time yet.  Even having the comfort in knowing that he is with the Lord isn't enough to stop the tears from coming, I still miss him to the point of feeling sick at times.  Feeling this way, I've gotten behind with everything I'm working on, including this blog.  With God's help, taking one thing at a time, I am completing the projects I'd started though!

I have some very exciting characters to share with you from novels both old and new, which I'll be posting on over the coming weeks.  I've also been informed that my subscription widget is malfunctioning so I'll be replacing it with a different method as soon as I get the chance.

If there comes a time when you feel like I have over the past few moths, always remember that when you're at your lowest point, God is there.  He's bringing me through a very hard time in my life, and he'll do the same for you if you let him.  I love the lyrics to the song: "He Knows My Name," whenever I feel overwhelmed it helps me to remember that even if no one else is aware of my pain, "He sees each tear that falls, and hears me when I call."

Enjoy!  I'll be posting novel reviews again next week!
